Privacy Policy
DRAFT. This text is a starting point written for the launch team. Have a Ugandan lawyer review it and fill in the company details before you go live.

EduAdverts ("we", "us") is operated by Eduscape Systems [registered address, Uganda; add your registration number]. We respect your privacy and handle personal data in line with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 of Uganda.
1. What we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and a securely hashed password. We never store your password in readable form.
- Business data: business name, type, phone/WhatsApp number, social handle or location, brand colours and your logo.
- Content you create: post text, captions, photos you upload and the posts you save.
- Usage data: how many AI posts you generate each month, plus basic technical logs (IP address, browser type, time) used for security and to prevent abuse.
2. Why we use it
- To create your account, log you in and run the service.
- To generate posts and captions for you, and to apply your brand to every post.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
- To contact you about your account (for example password resets and plan changes).
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show advertising.
3. AI processing
AI writing is not switched on yet. When it is, and you press "Write with AI", we will send your business name, business type, phone number, location/handle, the channel, the post goal and the idea you typed to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the text. Your photos and logo are not sent. Please do not type sensitive personal information about other people into the idea box.
4. Who else handles your data
- Namecheap hosts our servers and database.
- Anthropic processes AI requests as described above.
- Google Fonts serves the fonts on our pages, which means your browser contacts Google when pages load.
Some of these providers are outside Uganda. We only use providers that apply appropriate safeguards for personal data.
5. Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
6. How long we keep data
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, brand, saved posts and usage records from our live database. Security logs are kept for a short period.
7. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. You can delete your account yourself inside the app (My Brand → Delete my account), or email us at hello@eduscapesystems.com. You also have the right to complain to the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed, connections use HTTPS, and your posts are only visible to you. No online service is perfectly secure, so please choose a strong password and keep it private.
9. Children
EduAdverts is for businesses and institutions and is not meant for children under 18.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app or by email.
